The Hip Forums has about 30 moderators spread over the main forums. Their job is to see that the forums are kept free from spam, insults, off-topic posts and that the forum guidelines are enforced.

This is a tough job being a mod on such a busy forum. Our moderators are very experienced, some have been on the forums since the beginning. They are volunteers who spend a lot of personal time dealing with the forums, and they are a major reason why these forums are successful.

Often the mods work is a thankless task, and for the most part YOU NEVER SEE how much work they've done because the forums are running smoothly. But leave a busy forum unmoderated for a few days and you notice a big difference.

So we must respect our mods (and admins too), because they are here maintaining order and giving their time, without compensation, to make the Hip Forums a better place than any other forum on the Big Bad Web.

So we won't tolerate any insults directed at our mods or admins. Those who do will be subject to immediate banning at our discretion. Their job is hard enough without our mods being attacked for what they do.

    This policy takes effect immediately!

    P.L.U.Respect!

Everyone should view the update to the Forum Guidelines. There's a new section about respecting the mods (section 10). Other sections have been updated as well, so read it all again.

Thanks in advance to everyone for complying. :)
