is it by any chance the festival held in the middle of the desert when they make HUGE wooden carvings of dragons and stuff and then they burn them. and there is hundreds of ppl and no one gets lost cox they just hav to walk towards the burnings sculptures!!

y'know the one founded by the scientists who were tripping off their faces??? ach well maybe im speaking crap...lol

Lenore, BM started on the West Coast and now is in Nevada.
The playa is a delicate ecosystem, but to the MBM organizers' credit, they do a hreat job leaving no trace.

Yes, bm is a city for a week of art and alternative society installations that is burned at the end (to cuy down on stuff to pack out and to illustrate art's intransience.

I used to think it was the bad things that you do that you pay for in the end -
but more than that it is the good you could have done, but you did something else instead.

I'm going to BM. In 9 days!

I'm anxious - a completely self-reliant week in this desert:

I'm jealous. Take LOTS of water! Like 2 1/2 gallons a day was what they were saying at the local one.

The other day I was eating breakfast in small cafe with my friend...the guys at the table next to us were talking about BM. Prior to that, I had never heard of BM. So I came home and did some research...it looks sweet! :) I hope everyone that is going takes a little time to make a post about their experience when they get back! Where did BM actually start at, in the very begining?

Burning man was fantastic!

The double jointed purple palace bus///props to my Colorado homeys!!!
the Ashram Galactica hotel and spa...the most elegant lounge in all of BrC
and Quixotes Cabaret..the Brits there were fantastic! huge boobs!\
After the 2nd day you finally get over the hump and start enjoying all BRC has to offer...not sure how many people died..lots of humping going on...hurrah for the water trucks...my stankin ass needed a shower
That's Nuckin Futs! (dickie roberts [former child star]):p

My husband and I are thinking about going to the Burning Man Festival this summer. Has anyone ever been there? Is it worth the trip from Ohio?
