It's about time to start hoarding bits and pieces for the playa. THis thread is for Burning man discussion, ride share planning and LOCAL burner events.
    Enjoy!

Colorado has Apogea which merged for a year with Dreamtime and confused the hell out of me. I paid one ticket for two events? COOL.
Seems they will split again this year.

Regionals are not necessarily connected to the playa, but lots of the same freaks show up.

2004 was my first burn. i'm really looking forward to participating more this year ^.^

one of my favorite things about burning man was getting there and back. it's so much fun when you meet other burners on their way. you can tell by the painted cars and after the burn, there's playa everywhere for miles from us dirty desert people. oh, and all the happy friendly people i encountered all along the west coast.

This year will be my first burn. I've been admiring this event for almost half my life. Fortunately, I turn 18 two days before it starts this year so my parents can't say no this time. I also take delight in the theme, Psyche: the Conscious, the Subconscious and the Unconscious. My pop is a pharmacist so I've grown up working with him. In Qs1, the script program, a patients drug code is the last four letters of their first name then the first letter of their first name. Mine is SIEKK, hence the username. I've always been interested in pharmacology in relation to the psyche and performing little experiments on myself. Maybe I'm looking it to it more than I should but it makes me feel special, so I like to think it has significance [IMG]... now I just have to figure out how to get there :p

no ski-in burner events in Colorado that I know of, although we do have a couple ski-in jams in the REAL mountain terratin (not Vail/Aspen) being a XC skier and only a few treks, I'm not there yet.

    Seikk, check out cognitiveliberty.org!

I was thinking about going to burning man, but I haven't figured out what to bring to contribute. Can somebody give a few examples of what they or people they know have brought in the past?

    jewlary(handmade beaded/hemp)
    clothes(of your own design)
    drugs
    food (fruit/candy/cold water)
    love(hugs/smiles)
shelter(decorate it and people can chill there if you want)
    drugs
art(express youself as deeply and flamboyantly as possable)....

and i'd like to stress the importance of having a mode of transportation other than ones feet. i didnt have a bike or anything and i walked all around the place and my feet hurt like hell. that place is too big for walking.
