The point is, if you want wisdom you'll have to plead for it. If you want redemption, you'll have to work for it. If you want absolution, be generous to humanity, serve them and care for them, then you can eventually absolve yourself. If you want to see, ask. If you want to understand, be patient it will come overnight when it wants you to understand.

If you want adventure, be adventurous; if you want self-worth, make yourself useful; if you want gratitude, give up on gratitude, you don't need it. You just need to see a bit and then once you can see you'll have to remember to ask for comprehension.

And finally here's a trick not many remember. After you have asked for wisdom and seeing and comprehension, never ask for anything else again, always use your prayers as acts of humility and thanks and offer yourself up for whatever job comes along. When you are not asking and you are offering your services instead a huge whoosh of benevolence comes your way.

This journey is often hard and grueling but I tell you, nothing is solid, we will walk away one day and take a few scallywags that are milling about with us.

There is an unprecedented spiritual hunger in our times. More and more people are awakening to the inner world. A thirst and hunger for the eternal is coming alive in their souls; this is a new form of consciousness.
Yet one of the damaging aspects of spiritual hunger is the way it sees everything in such a severe and insistent light. The light of modern consciousness is not gentle or reverent; it lacks graciousness in the presence of mystery; it wants to un-riddle and control the unknown. Modern consciousness is similar to the harsh and brilliant white light of a hospital operating theatre. This neon light is too direct and clear to befriend the shadowed world of the soul. It is not hospitable to what is reserved and hidden......................
There is no direct, permanant or public access to the divine. Each destiny has a unique curvature which must find its own spiritual belonging and direction. Individuality is the only gateway to spiritual potency and blessing............
When the spiritual search is too intense and hungry, the soul stays hidden. The souls was never meant to be seen completely. It is more at home in a light that is hospitable to shadow.
Before electricity, people used candlelight at night. This is ideal light to befriend the darkness, it gently opens up caverns in the darkness and prompts the imagination to activity. The candle allows the darkness to keep its secrets. There is shadow and colour within every candle flame. Cndlelight perception is the most respectful and appropriate form of light with which to approach the inner world. It does not force our tormented transparency upon the mystery. The glimpse is sufficient. Candlelight perception has the finesse and reverence appropriate to the mystery and autonomy of the soul. Such perception is at home at the threshold.
