I enjoyed Nancy Drew and my husband read all the Hardy Boys books. He's having our son read the Hardy Boys series. He read one concurrent with the Hunger Games. That was quite a contrast in writing style and content! Learn to Read then Read to Learn The Teachers' Exchange
All of the Anne of Green Gables series, Chronicles of Narnia, Babysitters Club, Berenstein Bears...... And Charlie Brown's 'Cyclopedia (anyone remember that series?)

As a young child, say age 5, I loved "Button Soup"...its a disney book. I can still hear my grandma reading it to me..and I still have the original book and love reading it to my kids. In grade 3 I fell in love with The Secret Garden. Currently I love The Hunger Games as well as The Divergent Series. Can't wait for the third book!!
And actually anything on dinosaurs and sharks and snakes and mythology I read a lot about as a child.
First post so go easy on me =) I am a huge fan of Michael Berenstain. If you haven't heard of him google him he wrote childrens books about 30 years ago, but I think he is still active. But my favorite is "The Troll Book". I personally just the the illustrations I feel like they're timeless.
My kids favorite are greek myths and all sort of fairy tales. Personally, i love Japanese tales the most.
yes yes, it's me, I read caterpillar already, it's great, I love it. Now I'm reading the hero (Secret) by rhonda byrne
I really loved a book called "Shadrach" about a rabbit. Recently my favorite is "A Month of Bedtime Stories" by Neil McFarlane which I've been reading to my daughter. It's an obscure ebook I got after a recommendation from a friend who actually works with the author in a call centre, but I think it's brilliant. After the first story, my daughter lost all interest in Harry Potter!
