Why is Salvia legal and weed not?

I just recently found out about Salvia, and realized that it is legal in the U.S, Canada, the UK, and most places, but is being cracked down on in some countries in Europe. So why is Salvia, a plant that you smoke that gives you a harmless high, legal when weed, which is also harmless, illegal? Is it because it's hallucinegetic? No, shrooms and LSD are illegal. Is it because the high lasts for like 10 minutes? No, alcohol can make you drunk for hours, and it's legal. So what's the deal here? Anyone have any idea? Is Salvia soon to become illegal? Or is the government just fukin with us

 

^^^ drugs are scheduled according to psychoactives that are found in other illegal drugs.. since salvia is unlike any other psychoactive that is scheduled.. the government is finding it tough to make it illegal..

 

salvia is suposed to be used for incense

on the little packages of salvia that you buy at the store have a sticker on it that says "incense use only"

 

yea. because if you breathe it in in incense it would give you a mild high that the goverment cant do fuck all about, doing it in a bong would not make them happy.

 

No real answer, Salvia can get pretty intense sometimes particularly in higher extracts. Usually you don't just get high but trip.My guess is because it only became a mainstream drug recently, there are plenty of state laws pending on the illeaglity of Salvia. If salvia had been widely used the the 60s/70s even 80s it would be illeagal now but it has only recently become popularized. Its only a matter of time before Salvia joins cannibis on the scedule 1 chart

i was talkin too this guy at my school and he said he had salvia and then he watch porn and awhole bunch of dicks were flying around him, but he said it lasted a couple hours and when i mentioned the X rankings he said he had no idea what i was talking about. i kind of beleive him but i think it was something else not salvia

 

Simple. Racism. Read up on where early drug laws all came from. Very few, if any, were created with public health safety first and foremost in mind, that was mostly an after thought used to push the laws through.

 

mate seriusly research it alot before you take it, its a out of body experience, i had one of nos (loughing gas) and i thought id died and was floating above hell. it went after a minuit but a slavia trip can last what semse a life time

its strong stuff, i have never taken it and iv done loads of mushums and acid about a year ago and wouldnt do it, tho iv gone right of drugs and dont want to take anything really because to be honest it fucks u up in one way of anther

 

i had a huge ammount of salvia and when i was in my room i felt like i was at disney land. and couldnt stop laughing then i suddenly snapped back to reality its pretty fun.

 

yes, in fact Salvia is so strong it makes LSD look like taking an asprin. some say it's too intense, and that it can be downright frighteneing. I would much prefer legal weed than legal salvia. weed just makes you feel really good, and gives you a whole new perspective on life, shrooms and lsd are like opening up your skullcap and looking at how the gears of your brain turn... salvia just makes you incoherently crazy for like 5 mins.

 

Salvia.... holy fuck. Marijuana should msot def. be legal instead of salvia. People could get hurt if they're alone and take too much.

I think that is another reason why salvia is legal. It apparently produces a slow uncomfortable high. However I heard people say otherwise about that drug.
