who all has really camped out before. im not talking about stupid camping trips, or who has/hasn't had electricity or who was deeper in the woods.

no i mean who has had to live in a tent, or outside cuz you didnt have anywhere to go? ie: some homeless dude or whatever.

AND where have you camped out in? like states

me:cali,fl, and i had to live in a car in MI. the winter there is rough

Yeah a few times. I'm in the UK. I've slept in a frozen over car, on the roof of a shop, in various parks, under a bridge, in abandoned houses or sheds. This was mainly due to getting kicked out or locked out all the time in my early teenage years (I would be out all hours, being a bit of a dick really). Also a few times has been because I ended up stuck away from home without anyway of getting back so just had to make do...

...I wouldn't call it camping out though...

I've drifted in and out of homelessness. I would live out of my truck/van at times. I've never had a place of my own.

Last state was Maine. Awesome in the summer, not so much in winter.

I lived in a car,a van and a sailboat. Kind of camping,I guess. Oh,I forgot back packing in the Olympic rain forest. That was nice-we walked right into the middle of some resting elk and they jumped up and ran every which direction causing much confusion with them and us. But I've only been voluntarily homeless.

I once camped out for a month while working a full-time construction job, till I saved enough for a car and an apartment. It was the desert southwest so yeah, not too cold.
I only had a motorcycle for transpo, so I couldn't carry a whole lotta gear anyway.
As I remember it pretty much sucked.

That is what I was thinking.

I did do a portion of the Appalachian trail for a week and we camped out but we did not have to. It was something we wanted to do. The only kind of homelessness I have experienced was some couch hopping between living spaces.

Well yes what I did was "camping out". What you are talking about is homelessness.

There are a lot of people that travel that don't really want to have a home. They camp out everywhere and I wouldn't necessarily consider them "homeless". No, they don't have a home, but "homeless" implies that they actually want a home.

Exactly. That was me for the past year and a half until a couple months ago. Many traveling "kids" out there, really the number is growing more and more. But there is really a whole underground culture around this lifestyle. I learned so much from that experience and am very thankful for it.

And that.... means....? Do you want ideas on making it better? Advice on situations? Or just someone who's BTDT to talk with?
