First owl showed up, then a merlin. I think most people will have many come and go throughout their lives. So I've been told :)

Mine seems to go back and forth between bumble bee & cat...
I feel like I'm on a different journey in my life now though so maybe a new spirit animal will show up..

I certainly don't know all the ways - but here are some.

First, be aware of whatever nature is around you. Even if you live in a concrete jungle, there will be pigeons, sparrows, mice, rats, hawks - dozens of animals around - if you are aware.

In time, you may find yourself noticing particular animals in particular situations. Pay attention. One (or more) may draw your attention in unusual ways, or simply by being more obvious.

But if you're used to walking around with an iPOD blasting in your earbuds or texting your peeps, you're unlikely to notice much of anything at all.

Have you ever had recurring dreams about a particular animal (or insect or fish)? Are there animals which have fascinated (or terrified) you since you were a child? Chances are, one or more or your totems is trying to get your attention. Educate yourself about them. If they don't exist in your area, look at pictures of them, or watch films, tv shows or YouTube clips that feature them.

There are books out there that may (or may not) help you determine which medicine(s) each animal has to offer.

They have much to teach, if you are receptive to learning.

Good luck in finding yours (or recognizing which ones are trying to find you.)

I'm not sure exactly but I think my totem animals are spiders, giraffs, and panthers. Those are the animals I see when I'm dreaming sometimes.

    Mine's a bear.

apparently I resemble a healer (through my voice i've been told, plus music and laughter are the highest of frequencies) a teacher, and a peace keeper. It's good that hibernation is key too because I live in the snow belt of Canada and i'm stayin cozy all winter long. I do have a quick temper too :)

I "walk softly but carry a big stick"

    spider

i know I have a very dark side. but spider also represents patience, creation and weaver of destiny (as the spider calculates and weaves death of prey, predators, and procures its own life this way by dining on them :p ) also feminine energy.

i agree with this because I've been told (by older women that I respect) that I am excellent at directing people and placing them where they need to be for everything to move smoothly and advance everyone.

Mine are mutant turtles straight off the Gallapogos Islands. Just like me, I don't know if humanity classifies them as living healthy.
