What kind of record or historical source connects your family to Rognvald Eysteinsson?
Church records? Municipal archives? A by family kept family tree? Ancestry.com? A combination of said options? Etc.

Mine are collected through family kept records and verified through historical records found in my online research.

    Okay...people added to my shitlist.

People who drink the last of the coffee and don't bother to make a new pot
People who go to the bathroom and leave the lights and fan on
And people who put something in the microwave, set the timer for 2 minutes, nuke it for 30 seconds, and then leave 1:30 on the timer instead of, ya know, zeroing it out so the next person doesn't have to.

Basically, people who think everything is someone else's responsibility...

The DNA won't show that far back.

"There's a lot of variation that can occur in genetic heritiage, since while you are 50% of each of your parents, you aren't likely to be exactly 25% of your grandparents. This is because your father passed on 50% of his genes, selected at random, as did his mother. He might have passed on more of his father's than his mothers, etc.

That said, if we take an average value of each parent being 50%, and grandparent being 25%, and so-on, it only takes 7 generations before you reach just 1%. At 10 generations you have 102 which is 1024 ancestors. At that point, one ancestor at 10 generations would represent just 0.1% of your DNA." How many years back does Ancestry DNA tests go? • r/Genealogy

Indeed, when one has those its not a stretch. But there aren't any genealogical records that go back to legendary or mythological kings. Guess what, if there would be the king would be historical.
If there would be just one mythological historic account of a lineage from for example Rognvald Eysteinsson to Yngvi-Freyr we could all act like its without doubt a historically accurate account, although it still wouldn't be by default of course ;)
The fact is there are more than one of these sagas with lineages and historic accounts and they differ. So in this example the certainty would end with Rognvald anyway. Sorry to be a partypooper, Aeri :(

In this book, you will find the names that are descended from such royalty. Yes my surname is listed in it. And yes the names on the cover are how we are related, they are in my mom's records and have been for a very long time.

I would say plenty of royalty is full of it. All royalty and noble families who try to put significance on stuff like 'because my ancestors name is mentioned in a marriage in a legend put in poetic writing I have a bloodline to a mythological king, which enforces my rightful title to the throne or these lands '.
And if you believe noble families, including kings, did not try to fake this kind of shit on a regular basis you should take a dive into real history. Wars were fought over it
