As I was saying....

My maternal grandmother, "Granny". She had 12 brothers and sisters, grew almost all of her own food, made a hell of an apple pie and smoked cigarettes till the day she died at the age of 97. Once she called me "the meanest little bastard she had ever met", lol. On their "honeymoon" she and my granddad suckered tobacco out in the field, went home and ate and went to sleep (so they claimed).

I visited her when the impeachment of Bill Clinton was going on and asked her opinion. She got very serious, pointed a boney finger at me and said "I'd like to go down there [Washington, DC] and kick somebody's ass!" One of the last of the strong, old fashioned women.

I've just made something so amazingly unhealthy I don't think it can be called 'food'

I fried some pepperoni slices to crisp them up and render the fat, toasted a couple slices of glutenfree bread in said fat, and assembled bread, pepperoni, slice of american cheese food product, pepperoni and bread.

toasted til everything melted.

should I be ashamed that this is actually tasty?

good. cause I made 3. it's ridiculously tasty in that horrendous 'I can't believe I'm actually eating this' kind of way. (and I added butter to the second two I made, even)

 

caught a nice fish today

buddy looked kind of pissed because i havent fished for probably twenty years and he takes me out on a whim after spending the day atv'ing at his camp ... i got one in his favourite spot ...larger than he;s ever seen come out of that whole lake

Ack! I need to get to bed soon.

I have a feeling that tomorrow at the emergency room with hubby will be a long day.

The last time he had to go to the emergency room, and ended up getting a toe amputated, he had to stay on a bed in the hallway for 24 hours before they could even move him to an exam room.

 

I get to work and as I'm pulling in I get a text saying we're starting fifteen minutes later.
