A Street legal 51 Kaiser-Frazier Henry J Gasser would be so much fun.

1969 Dodge Super Bee, had one 20 years ago and me and my Dad scrapped it like a couple of dummies. Now these things are worth so much money I could be sick!

I used to fantasize about owning one of these: Amphiacar

An awesome idea for a fun and useful car. But the problem is that it was a wispy under-powered motor, and the only mechanism to steer the boat were the front wheels, which were supposed to act like rudders. So it was a crappy car and a crappy boat. Even worse was the body was built out of steel... Why not fiberglass or aluminum?!

They were first built in 1961.
I'm assuming fiberglass and aluminum production of automobiles was in its infancy.
Fiberglass had to be hand formed in layers until 1968. With the Corvette they had problems with shrinkage, distortion, and long cure times..very expensive.

Aluminum of the time was usually riveted, I think, and it has a lower ductility rating. Working with aluminum is also expensive.
