I gotta go on monday at 8:15am. It's gonna be a total of $1500 in fines, apparently, and I'm gonna have to do about five days in jail, which isn't so bad. It would be ten days, but it's a 2-for-1 deal, which means I only have to serve half of the sentence, and they may subtract a day or so for time-served. The worst part is the money. Whatever probation I get will be over as soon as I pay the $1500 though, so that's cool.

I just hope the fine isn't gonna be too hard to pay, considering I don't have a job, because that could severely prolong the amount of time it takes for me to move to New Zealand, and that's my main priority right now. If this fucks up my chances of going to be with my fiance, then I will once again fall into addiction, and I know that for a fact. I can't think of anything worse than this keeping me from my fiance, considering the charges happened before I got my life on track and before I even met my lady.

    Send good vibes, stoners:sifone:

    Thanks everyone:)

lunar......it was just a shoplifting charge and a driving on a suspended license charge, but it was the second offense for each charge. Luckily, I didn't get a DUI, considering I had eaten 19 xanax's that day. hahaha

Hey good luck man, pay that shit off asap. The jail time will be over before you know it, you can catch up on some sleep or play chess. See if your PO can help find you a job, thats usually something they like to do.

That's a good idea. I'm not really worried about the jail time, except for the food. That's gonna suck. haha

As far as the money goes, I'm gonna continue to try to find a job, and I may even ask some people for donations. I probably won't be able to get any donations, but it won't hurt to ask.

You probably can't do this in time-

Go to the court with a letter from the person in New Zealand where you will be staying.

The letter should have a name, address, and phone number of the person. The letter should state that you will have a place to stay and a job is waiting for you.

It would be good if the note was notarized by your friend in New Zealand. Many times the court will let you leave the jurisdiction if you have a place to stay and a job waiting. You could try talking to the public defender-they would know the general practices in your area.

    Good luck.

Yeah I have a public defender and I actually do have a job waiting for me, though it's not a steady job. I will be painting houses with my fiance's dad. I think you're right about not being able to get the letter in time though. Either way, I think I'd still have to pay the fines, and after I do that, my probation will be over anyway. That being said, I am gonna get my lawyer to bring up the fact that I'm gonna be permanently leaving the country. It may or may not help my case, but it's worth a shot.

    And thanks for the well-wishes:)

If your leaving forever, or at least the next 10 years or so you should bail out and just go;)

lol I can't do that. The New Zealand government will check to see if I have any outstanding legal obligations and it will prevent me from becoming a citizen.
