This Is Where We Need A New Peace Movement

i don't mean telling anyone they can't play war.

what i mean is, i'm talking to game designers and the video gaming industry,
is games that give players all the strokes video gaming gives them now,
but lets them actually build things, create game assets and environments,
in game, and rewards in all ways, just as much as they are rewarded now,
for building things, creating a beautiful world, negotiating peace, and so on.

people play games for escape from the complexities and frustrations of real life, right?

so why not give them REAL alternatives to what is really at the root of those frustrations.

allow and encourage them to think about and figure out,
how to create cultures, nations, ideologies, ways to live,
that really don't give rise to them.

I see what you are saying. Not a gamer but your idea brings this to mind:
-A good game title for that would be "Post War"
-It would allow players to develop strategies to bring humanitarian/economic aid and reconstruction
to a nation that needs rebuilding from years of conflict
-it would be scenario driven and offer the player a multitude of actions to choose from with various outcomes
-there would still be some action to it because of the need to respond to civil unrest, Violent extremists organizations
and totalitarian-based governments that surface and compete for control of resources.

Something like that?
