My boooooo I'm going to stop joking about being in love with Stalin one of these days Today is not the day
Westbrook Fruit/Wood/Time: Black Raspberry (Madeira Finish). This is a sour that is a blend of 33% dry sherry cask mixed fermentation saison, and 67% oak foudre aged sour beer that was blended and refermented with black raspberries for three months in Madeira wine barrels.
My mama washed my mouth out real good with Sierra Nevada soap, cuz I'm a potty mouth. Actually.... I completely mistyped that. Calling it beer flavored soap
Hello there, peoples! I'm back and catching up on a few posts after I post this review. (Gonna be a fairly light night, comparatively speaking... I got shit to do tomorrow.) Beer #1: (Alc. 6.5%) (Omnipollo - Oaxaca) Smell: Mango and sweet citrus served up on a bit of bread. A distant note of pine rounds out the edges. Taste: Faint mango and sweet citrus served up on a bit of bready cracker. A very distant note of pine rounds out the edges. Overall, this is a pretty juicy brew. The only bitter notes come in at the backend and are still slight at that. Tastes more like a sparkling juice than a beer. Not entirely, but well enough to notice. And hey! A pic to with it this time!
And can somebody explain why all the metal band beers are like 5% alcohol? That's not metal... it's soft rock at best.
I've had good ideas and bad ideas, but this next brew is... well... Beer #2: (Alc. 6.8%) (21st Amendment - A Terrible Idea) Smells: Stone fruit with a touch of pith and pine. A cracker body. Distant whispers of banana and clove. Tastes: Dank stone fruit with a touch of sweet citrus. Lined with pith and pine. The biscuit body holds hands with (possible) trailing suggestions of banana/clove. Overall, a bit confusing to nail down the flavor profile, to be honest. And there was a lot of head when I poured it. But my tasting notes are close enough. Maybe. And a little something I didn't spend too much time in finding:
Actually, the complexity of all those flavors sounds intriguing. And your picture choices on point as usual.
It was pretty tasty, but if you want something REALLY good... check out this next review! (And thanks for the pic compliment. )
And here we are, on my last beer of the night... Beer #3: (Alc. 8.2%) (Two Roads - Two Juicy) Smellin: Subtle pineapple and nectarine. Cracker body. Some distant dank hay? Tastin: Subtle layers of pineapple, nectarine, pear, and clove. The cracker/biscuit body in harmony with understated earthy spices and camouflaged fruity esters. Overall, this is a really enjoyable brew that's both juicy and earthy. I could easily pound this beer if I... well, wait... I do WANT to, but I also want to savor it for a bit. This beer has every right to be confident in its thick self! And hey! I got a pic for 3 beers tonight! Here's the last one, now!
I love everything about this post. The beer sounds amazing and I absolutely adore the Universal Monsters and think the Frankenstein movies are among the best fils ever made. Well done, sir, well done!!
