Every single music lover on the face of the earth owes it to themselves to listen to 1966-73-era Beach Boys! Smiley Smile, Wild Honey, Friends, Sunflower, Surf's Up, and Holland are IMO some of the best albums of the late 60s and early 70s.

Great underrated band...good enough to compete with the the Beatles. Pet Sounds is another album of theirs worth checking out.

Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coup and so on. Great songs. Not to nitpick or anything but the lyric "Two Girls For Every Guy" is from Surf City by Jan and Dean.

The Beach Boys have consistently cranked out great tunes. IMHO Smile is the height of their talent, and shared a stalemate with Sergeant Pepper. Brian Wilson has been one of the most talented musicians in the US, and the world. His brother Carl started to take over the reigns after that and they still made great music, which is chronically underplayed and underrated (though we do get to hear "Oh Darling" and "Do It Again" occasionally on the radio), but it isn't quite as good as what Brian was more directly in control of.

Dax--yes. He hung with Brian for a while trying to get his (Mansons)-music noticed.

It was actually Dennis. Charles wanted to make some music, & was hoping Dennis would help out. Then stuff happened.
