If he is using the description black hole he is talking about a thing for which he denies personal reputation.
If it can be observed is has substance.
The trick is to discover the nature of that substance
and then you have substantive understanding

There is a lot of fluff in schools. They waste a lot of time with redundancy when everything could be taught so much more efficiently.

Seems you are not that opposed to the method of redundancy :p

creationism should be taught in history class maybe. not in science class thought, in modern times we know far more than we did in the ancient ones.

The trouble I see with this is, the ones that want to force this into schools these days think evolution is a theory with no basis and creationism is indisputable fact... That is going to cause all manor of problems.

Oh, and the earth is only 4000 years old. They have "proof" of this too.

If creationism is false, then all races were not created equal.

LOL LOL LOL ... 6000 years btw. and they are the type of people that just DONT do reason .. they won't do it. they clain carbon dating is flawed (though it agrees with other independant dating methods).

evolution *is* a theory ... "those people" don't know what a theory is is the problem. i think the word they are looking for when they refer to "theory" is hypothesis, two differnent things.

there is NO way that you can have a 6000 year old earth and satisfy einstein's gravity theory, the speed of light is a constant, and is part of a whole lot of physics. so those galaxies that are sooo far away, you would have to say that the speed of light was faster in teh past in order for us to see it only 6000 years later. the factor that you would have to change c (speed of light) is HUGE ... and if you change c to a value that would allow for a 6000 year old earth then gravity no longer works, at least not in a way that would allow for a universe or even solar system that we can observe. the planets wouldn't be able to stay in orbit!

you would have to pretty much rewrite physics to satisfy the condition of a 6000 year old earth ... which would of course break nearly everything else. you'd have a 6000 year old earth tho, but not much else. gps satellites would give you wrong directions by a factor of 2 million or so ... physics would be broken and we'd be back in the dark ages.

the theories we have describe the things we observe...

I suppose one could argue that there's no way to be absolutely sure the universe wasn't created 2 seconds ago, looking exactly as it does and us having all of the memories that we do. we apply Occam's razor in this case.
