    Epic Movie.

I watched the entire film in one 207 minute sitting. Wasn't bored for a second. Great admirable characters, and a simple plot that just doesn't seem like it would work if they tried making it now.

Another interesting thing I thought about while watching was that, since it was made in 1954, most of the actors lived through World War II. I just found it interesting to see the faces of people we at one point wanted to kill.

    So yeah, discuss.

Simple, a village is threathed by bandits, and some villagers go to get samurai, or "hungry samurai" as they pay them with rice. And they get seven warriors to fight the bandits, and you add a little romance as a minor subplot, and you got a good film!

Yes, I enjoy that movie. I really like Toshiro Mifune's character especially.

If a modern remake was made it would be mostly CGI.

It would certainly create 207 minutes of laughter with people jumping off buildings and walking away. :)
No wonder people still prefer the old films.
