I think it's in reference to followers of Shepard Smith on FOX News.

Chemistry making 500mL 0.1M calcium (II) hydroxide solution

An aquarium additive for my 60 gallon cichlids tank to raise pH, alkalinity, and general hardness (GH). And man they really like that shit their colors really pop vibrant I had a blue fish turned brilliant yellow. Added a little KOH to the tank to get the the pH stable at right around 8.0....but they really like pH 8.2 a lot, I can just tell cuz I know my fish ;)

NYC water way too soft and low pH...the commercial pH Up product from petsmart and Petco raise the pH bit not high enough and it drops within 24hrs cuz it's just Sodium Carbonate solution...which I can also make myself from baking soda plus heat for a few hours.

looks like you were directing movement of the boat...not actually moving it ;)

that's pretty damn cool you have a whaling canoe though. are you native alaskan or something like that?

What are you using as a substrate, gravel or crushed coral?

Crushed coral should be able to keep the ph up around 8+ without too much fussing, unless the tapwater is really soft/acidic.

Grey sand...the fish take into their mouths and deposit the sand in other places making mountains and holes. They also can blow the sand out thru their gills

NYC tap water is extremely soft, pH 6.8-7.0 last time I checked. I try to put as little shit into the water as possible, shit like stress coat they don't need most all of the time..it just breaks out and raises the nitrate level and the only way to get that down is to do a water change, and you gotta match the pH of the new water you put in to the tank water pH. I use activated carbon in my filter and two bio-wheels and a bubble tube in the back of the tank at the bottom.

You should check out mixing 50/50 or greater with crushed coral, I'm sure that would help stabilize it.

I've been thinking about adding some to my filter media for some time. It seems it's good for long term stability
