It’s terrible and the death toll has now risen to 1, 234, but compared to the 2004 Indonesian Tsunami which took the lives of 167,540 people
and caused over $20,000,000,000 in damage, this event has been somewhat overlooked and under reported.

    Pretty brutal there right now.

Apparently the tsunami-detection buoys weren't functioning correctly.
