I've always loved Prague.. not just because I go there to school, but it's a really wonderful city, wonderful monuments showing a huge history of middle europe. :)

I have been doing a lot of research on it because I am going to take my TEFL very soon in Prague. Thanks for your comment, what sort of things would you recommend to do in Prague?

well, it's up to you. you may see many historical places like Prague Castle, Charles' Bridge, Old Town Square... all of them you'll find in every tourist guide, but Prague is full of clubs where you can meet a lot of interesting people. In the centre of Prague, there are quite expensive clubs full of tourists, but in the fringe of the city, there are, you know, those rock clubs with all those fine people drinking beer and dancing and just having fun. Not those snobbish ones in the centre:D just find some good i-net guide and choose what you wanna see.;) Prague's not that big to get lost:)

Ahhhh that's good to hear. I'm definately up for avoiding the touristy hotspots, although I won't really have time to do much socialising until my TEFL is completed.

It seems that Prague is a growing hotspot for stag parties. I hope this is not having a bad effect on the city?

Prague is cool for whatever u want - stag weekends , married couples , whatever u want.

Just watch out for the gypsies in the street at 3am.( one gypsie woman with no teeth kicked off with me: ))lol

Oh and some twats tried to run me over.

Still its a brilliant place , beer and spirits are cheaper than water.
Loads of bars , clubs , restaurants , places to visit , and even cultural shit if u like that

PS go up one of the towers - cathedral , Eiffel's or the new one.The views are brilliant

One of the best guides was the Czech airlines free guide BTW

Well in an "expensive bar" it was about 35 pence a pint.

Spirits were like 20 pence a shot in an expensive bar, so yes its really cheap.

Bars that the locals drink in , away from like the main squares might be 20 pence or so for a pint.
    I went 2 years ago.

Eiffel yeah I meant that metal tower in the wooded hill bit in the old town , between the stadium and the cathedral.
I thought it was a half size of the Paris Eiffel tower , designed by him too?

Dunno , I didnt go up it , I heard it wobbled in the wind?lol

I must go back and trace some of my relatives and stuff:)

Location: England-that place with red buses and inbred chinless twots thinking they can tell us what to do
I'm glad someone has a realistic view of the English conservatives, seems some things haven't changed since my ancestor floated over here on teh Mayflower.

The Czech Republic is a wonderfuly cheap place to travel to. I spent a good 2 weeks in Prague, and spent less money there than in any other European city. You can get a full lunch with an enteree, a desert, and a couple of good beers for next to nothing... just look around for small private restaurants. The public transportation is great, and the streets are wonderfully designed for pedestrians...

Plus... you can just sit and watch the little figueres move around the clock at the main square for hour after hour after hour :p
