I'll be the first to admit that I am not into love films, why? Well, mainly because they are boring and cliched and once you've seen one love story you've pretty much seen them all. I'm much more of an action/epic film fan. That being said here are some films that I think were incredibly good and wern't just ANOTHER love story. Two of the love stories happen to be about gay males, but that has nothing to do with me being gay. Sure they are more relevant to me, but they also don't stick to cliches and that is mainly because gay love is a controversial subject(Alot would say it is just lust) so they have to work around that. So here they are, tell me what you think. (In order of preference) 1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 2. The Notebook 3. Beautiful Thing 4. The Titanic 5. Brokeback Mountain I'll be glad to go into further detail of why I included any particular movie on my list if anyone wants to know.
Beautiful Thing and Eternal Sunshine are both so, so fantastic....my top five would have them in it. Good choices! my top five might be a bit different though - for the other three spots I'd have The Princess Bride, High Fidelity aaaand no 5 would be a tie between The Price of Milk and Kissing Jessica Stein. yay.
1) moulin Rouge - something about this film just captured me 2) Love actully - its not just one love story its lots and all at different stages of Love 3) Titaic - its just got to be there 4) the note book - what a film 5) Romeo and juliet - classic
