First of all, I'd like to introduce myself...

My name is *BarbieCore* aka FLUTTER. Obviously, those are nicknames. I am a raver from Los Angeles, CA and was named by a fellow raver. My real name is Alicia. =)

Anyway, in February 2009, I moved away from all this amazing chaos. I moved to a small, suburban area in northern Michigan with my boyfriend. Neither one of us have been to a rave in a long time. There aren't any raves in northern Michigan. If we want to go to a rave, we must drive a minimum of 4-5 hrs. Neither one of us have had time to make that trip. We are both busy with work. Plus we just bought a house together and money is tight.

So we decided that we are in desperate need of a rave and want to go to one soon. But can only go to ONE!!

Now, here is the dilemma. His birthday is on October 17th. He will be turning 25. My birthday is on November 9th. I will also be turning 25. We thought that we would go to a Halloween rave since that seems to be right in the middle of our birthdays and Halloween is our favorite holiday. Now, the problem is, his cousin is a big time DJ (don't want to drop any names here, cause he is a well known DJ). Well his cousin (the DJ) is headlining this party somewhere in the mid-west on Halloween. We'll pretty much be standing with him on stage during his set and getting vip treatment. lol. But honestly, I really don't like his cousins music. It's very dull and undancable. Plus the other DJ's there I don't care for either. They are all even worse. I really don't like any of the DJ's or any of the music at this party. Usually at every rave/festival I go to, I like quite a few DJ's. His cousin is an awesome guy. I enjoy hanging out with him but I'm just not into his music and it's very boring. But my boyfriend really wants to go (even though it's not his favorite music either) he just wants to go. But, the following week, which is my birthday weekend, there are so many parties going on with some of my favorite DJ's and also my boyfriends favorite DJ's. My boyfriend really loves the other parties and the lineups. I know he would have fun. He told me to decide what we do. But I really don't want to go to a party where I hate the music and at the same time he wants to see his cousin. We did go see his cousin back in September and we do see him often. Just never live. But I really don't want to choose a different party when I know he might be upset cause he never saw his cousin. He said he will have fun either way but I know he wants to go to his cousins rave. What do you think? Should I just suck it up and go with him to see his cousin? We'd probably get in free and have a place to stay. I just don't know cause this is our first rave in 8 months and we probably won't go to another one in a long ass time either. I just won't like the music at all and it's really the only type of electronic music I can't stand. I love happy hardcore, hardstyle, drum n bass, minimal and almost everything else. Just not that. So should I go to his cousins party or see if he wants to go to one of the other parties. They all sound like fun except for that one. lol.

wow. i don't want to sound bitchy, but if this is the biggest problem in your life right now i don't know what you are all worried about. big deal, you don't like the music that his cousin (the big famous DJ) plays, so what? i do a lot of things that i really don't want to do to make my boyfriend happy, and he does the same for me. and if you haven't even asked your boyfriend if maybe you guys could go to the other parties instead, what the hell are you waiting around for? just ask him and see what he thinks, and if it seems that he would rather go see his cousin, go with him and have fun seeing him having fun. that could work ya know.
