Is there anyone who can suggest me books that are best for kids to read?

I read above book as a small child and loved it, but just read summary of it.....maybe you don't want to have your child read it...maybe you rather stick to things like James and the Giant Peach.....LOL
or Wind in the Willows. i read those two book as a child, also, and I love those books, too.

as well as many other books....still have them all, too. :)

My son really got into these illustrated storybooks about ninja seals by Joe Yang.
He isn't even proficient at reading yet (he's 6), but he has been reading them again and again, with me and also alone. I find the books engaging and funny, the illustrations are well done, and they get him hooked.

The books of Anthony horrowitz and Eoin Colfer were the best when I was growing up, also the mortal engines series, the bartimaeus trilogy, darren shan and the edge chronicles.

I read this today. It is simply charming....
It tookme two minutes to read, and she illustrated this, too, but I found it to be profoundly simple.

Just what I needed to read today.

Most of these activity books tend to all follow a certain theme and my little scribblers get bored after a few pages but there's bedtime in this activity book that came as a complete surprise. It had my kids and my husband laughing their socks off and it's almost become a nightly ritual at this stage. I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone but this is so well worth the cover price.

Hi! What kinds of books are you looking for? My favorite picture books are by Mo Willems (funny), Kevin Henkes, and Briony May Smith. For older kids, there is no match to Roahl Dahl, Louis Sacher (Wayside Series, Boy in the Girl's Bathroom) and Lemony Snicket.

A magnificent book, particularly for 8 to 12 year olds in the American Midwest is “Paddle to the Sea”. It’s a fictional human geography story about the Great Lakes and some cultural lessons about Indians as well. Neat illustrations and was my favorite about 70 years ago but still relevant.
