since WE are NOT universal, there is no definitive way we could honestly answer that. music: a pleasing sequence of acoustical sensations. anything with auditory sensors would likely find some sequence of acoustical sensations pleasant. we know that other life forms on our own planet seem to find some to be so. but that is as much as we can objectively determine. "meaning" is a separate issue entirely. one that is subjective and by no means culturally universal even among our own species on our own world.
Not exactly, though some music is pretty much universally liked + it appears our brains are more or less wired to react emotionally to certain kinds of sound(s)/music.
If music was universal, wouldn't all humans--let alone space aliens and what-the-fuck-not--appreciate the same music? I can almost guarantee you and I don't see eye-to-eye on music. So how could it possibly be universal??
