Grrrrrrr...... I hate having colds.... help me... I dont like to take any medicine. Its mostly a stuffy nose, cloged ears type of cold that is now developing a cough from all the mucus in my nose that dipped into my through, Any ideas on something to make me feel better?

Hot shower will help loosen the snot up and get some drainage going on. Hot tea, pepermint, mint, etc...get plenty of fluids/sleep. :) *sends some good healing vibes your way* Peace!

    Zinc.

    ;)
I am just getting over a cold. I tried this stuff that was recommended to me, called "Zicam". It's basically just a formula of Zinc, either in an oral or nasal spray. It's supposed to cut the cold short, and reduce the severity of the symptoms. I was amazed at how well it worked, actually... although the stuff tastes like you're chewing on tinfoil :p

The problem with Zicam, Zinc, and similar products, you never know if they worked, or if you just got better and wasted $10!

I would recommend generic Sudafed Allergy. It contains pseudoephedrine and chlorpheniramine (a decongestant and antihistamine, respectively). It will help open you up, and help dry up the drainage. If cough is a problem, try Delsym cough syrup, or Mucinex DM if you have both cough and chest congestion.

The generic Sudafed Allergy (green and white box) will cost you about $3.00.
