    The books were amazing!

I would recommend to anyone who has not read them, to get on it!

I watched the movies and was concerned the books were overrated.

I'm hooked now! I'm reading them again.

HP... I thought guy might have meant HP Lovecraft, so I started replying and then realized it meant Harry Potter. Lol.

I've never read one the books, I've seen one movie. One with a flying car. That dorky glasses kid doesn't do anything for me. :D

You're never too old to use your imagination. Go on, dust it off!

I thought the books were pretty thematically complex for a children/young adult series. My homegirl J.K. portrays so perfectly the propensity of perfectly normal, average people towards both great acts of heroism and great acts of evil during unusual times.

I read the Harry potter books as they came out, I was pretty much bang on the right age for them. I really fug them, but I didn't necessarily place them higher in my estimation than a lot of other SFF children's books that came out around the same time. Things like Mortal engines, the Darren Shan books, everything by Eoin colfer and the Bartimaeus trilogy all seemed to be a bit more complex. The early Potter books are basically detective stories, well written ones, but they follow a pretty simple structure and the characters are pretty straightforward. This isn't a complaint, I think it's their main strength, simpler series tend to become more iconic. I just think its a shame that other authors of the time didn't get a fraction of the exposure that JK Rowling got.

I love Harry Potter books much more than the films. All the parts.
I feel like I should re-read it. It always gives me a feeling of happiness and magic.

    ME TOO!!!

I read the series for the first time when I was 29. Don't let your age restrict you from enjoying things in life.

Movie harry is so different. I see the movie as just something nice to look at. The characters in the books develop much more.
