sbux has some good beans sometimes. they just rarely have it on tap. some towns have some good coffee shops that roast there own beans, which can be good, but i normally drink some sbux beans just because its easy to find, and thier kenya and ethiopian are pretty decent. i only drink a small cup a day, outa a french press.
whole beans rock, but I don't have a grinder. I had some Starbucks Cafe Estimo Blend yesterday that was the shit, but I still say starbucks is overrated
Starbucks is totally overrated, but sometimes I want a venti iced soy vanilla latte and it's right down the street, so I give in. Normally, I prefer Allegra coffee from Whole Foods, it's fair trade and organic
Omfg! They have tim hortons in canada? they dont have em here in california. i get my fix in buffalo.
Every time i hear the name i think of a toad, a lizard, and sex at the same time. Its drivin me scissors.
There's no law saying you have to drink coffee black, but I choose to, simply because I'm looking for the best cup of COFFEE. I already know what milk, cream, sugar, and a little bit of coffee taste like. I find that if I grind 14 grams of whole beans, added to 8oz of water just off the boil, in a french press for 3-5 minutes, press and pour, I tend to get a repeatably decent cup of black coffee. If I want milk with it, I pour a separate cup of milk to chase each sip of coffee, if and when I wish to. That way, I can actually TASTE the coffee first. My next project is to buy a hand grinder from Zassenhaus (google it for the lowest prices), which grinds fairly well for under a hundred bucks. Otherwise, you'll be paying much more for a consistent grind. And finally, I have found Starbuck's Pike Place beans to be adequately tasty to me. I don't have the time or the money to be searching out a better bean. I've tried many, and Pike Place seems good to me. It's the original roast, allegedly, that Stbux began with.
Kona is the nectar of the gods, but it's hard to find the good stuff on the mainland. I drink a brand called French Market instead. It's got chicory in it. I don't really know what that is, but I love the flavor.
