This movie is for fans to the Fast & Furious franchise and you would probably have to see the others to know the backstory of the characters. The movie opens in a secure hospital where injured, near dead villain Owen Shaw (Luke Evans - from F&F 6) is visited by his older brother Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). In this first scene we learn what a badass Deckard Shaw is.

    Shaw Badass

Shaw seeks vengeance on the ppl who put his bro in the hospital and that be, Agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) extended family. Hobbs has a hand to hand with Deckard and ends up in the hospital. One member of Dom's family is killed and Dom learns from Hobbs the identity of the black-ops trained Shaw who is coming after them.

    A Family Funeral

Dom even gets a mano-a-mano moment with Deckard as well and is rescued by a team of armed operatives led by a secret agent (Kurt Russell) who offers help to Dom's crew if they bring in a computer programmer named Ramsey who has a very sophisticated spy program that can track ppl anywhere by hacking into all networks.

Dom then calls the whole family together to take on this threat. This includes Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) who is married to his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and father to his nephew. And of course his lover Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) who is still suffering from her amnesia (from F&F 6). Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Chris Bridges) also come in for the action.

As seen in the trailers, this involves dropping a team of vehicles by chute from air transport, and crashing a rich man's party in Abu Dhabi, driving his sports car from the top floors of a tower into the adjoining tower.

Dress Up to Crash a Party

Hey, that is what these movies are all about, action and unbelievable stunts. And, I enjoyed it for those suspension of disbelief moments - sometimes gripping the armrest for certain scenes. (I saw the movie in 2-D but it is also showing in 3-D). But, I don't have to sell this movie, you are either going to go see it - and likely already have, or you won't.

This movie is also the last one Paul Walker worked. He was killed in an actual sports car crash on November 30, 2013. They had to rewrite the script for some of his scenes and his brothers Cody and Caleb were stand-ins for some scenes.
