In late march I am planning a vacation to Florida, probably southern, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on places to go that are totally barefoot friendly, I am imagining the keys are though I am guessing. My goal is to go shoeless for 7 straight days, something I have never done before, I definately want to do some hiking, though urban stuff may be neat as well. My other vacation ideas are any of the southern states, my only criteria is it must be at least 75 in the day. Thanks! P.s. I can't wait, it is -4 here in indiana right now and its so cold I have resorted to wearing socks in the house, something I almost never do.
I live in Alabama and March is a tricky month around here...it can be warm and cold. I would personally stick to Florida if you want guaranteed warm weather. Sadly, I do not know of any place that is 100% barefoot friendly...I always seem to come across restaurants and stuff that are not happy about bare feet, wherever I go, no matter the city. Sometimes you can get away with it, sometimes you cant. Hopefully there is place somewhere in Florida thats totally barefoot friendly and I just dont know about it yet...Sorry I couldnt be of more help, but have fun in Florida!
I live in FL, but not south. It can get chilly where I am, it was 37 degrees one morning last week, so bring a pair of socks. It's really hard to go totally barefoot if you have to go into stores, hotels, whatever, but to some extent it's just attitude: be confidant and hope nobody official looks at yer feet. and maybe toss a pair of flip-flops in yer bag in case you need em. and watch out for the fire ants, they bite!
