Smooth tile floors, soft squishy mud, creeks and cool wet grassy fields to stain my soles green.

Shopping malls. Can't explain it. I just feel like I'm really getting away with something being barefoot at the mall. Only done it a few times and have not been kicked out yet. Maybe it's something that girls can get away with more than guys. I've never seen a guy do that before anyway.

Hey imthatkindagirl, I am totally with you. Shopping malls are a cool place to be barefoot. I just wanted to let you know that I'm a guy and the few times I go to malls, I am always barefoot. Here are a few pics of me at shopping malls from my MySpace page:

Whoa, talk about timing! I was trying to decide if I was going to go barefoot to the mall today; I had an item to buy for my wife. It's an upscale mall, and I figured I'd get busted for sure. After seeing your posting (and "imthatkindagirl's"), I decided to go for it. Talk about timing! I needed that extra push! I went in, took the stairs to the 2nd floor, walked about half the length of the mall, and went to the store I wanted. I talked to the saleswoman at length and even negotiated a discount. She never looked down or commented about my bare feet. In fact, she came out from behind the counter and walked with me into the main walkway of the mall so I could see the item in more natural light. She thanked me for my business and gave me her business card. I then walked out, down the escaltor, and out to my car. No issues at all!

Walking around downtown sober when the drunks are out. Greatest comment to me by a drunk passenger of a pickup: "Where are your...toes?" I didn't even state the obvious because I was laughing too much!

On the grass... and for some reason, I really like the floors in stores! Once I was in a store that has that weird carpeting that's really flat and I didn't like it at all... felt prickly.

That is very cool! I applaud you for being able to go barefoot at your local malls. Over here, the shoe nazis are everywhere!

My absolute favourite is on a farm in bare feet, especially if it is a bit muddy. Then the next is a shopping mall. I love the differnt surfaces and temeratures against my bare soles. (Single sole at the moment until the cast comes off my broken foot).

The only good thing about this down economy is that there are some old malls here with hardly any stores left. They are happy to get whatever traffic they can get. One is so deserted that I was able to talk my boyfriend into going barefoot there with me once.

Farms are one place I wouldn't go barefoot. Way too many pathogens for my taste...

I like store/fast food/arena floors, city streets, roads, everywhere I normally go, really. I loved Grateful Dead shows, lots of other fulltime barefooters there. I'm not really into mud. Barefoot hiking is great, especially on dusty paths.

I'm comfortable on hot or rough surfaces since I've been barefooting for a long time. Malls are also great. Unfortunately I haven't seen a barefoot person in a mall in a long time.

patti smith does not love shoes that much either, time ago in florence i was at saschhall for her concert in the trampin' album tour, btw on the CD cover there is a threading bare foot ;-) . i came to the city barefoot with a few friends, patti tossed her boots and socks out stage after a short while. the night was great xcept for that drunk girl who puked on the floor and dropped dead* next to me lol but i managed not to step on both things.
