I'm bummed, my friend had to put his chocolate lab down, he had cancer. Dog's name was J.D., he loved people, loved to chase balls, Frisbees, whatever you'd throw. Lotta fun! R.I.P. J.D.! ?
I know a bit about this and I am very sad for you. It's so hard to say good-bye but think of all the fun times. Finally, when you are ready get another dog, that's the best balm.
Thanks, though he wasn't my dog, he was my friend's dog. Still whenever I came to visit we had to toss a ball or two around for him to chase, and I'm gonna miss that. My friend's budget is a little tight these days so it might be a while before he gets another dog.
I get upset just thinking of putting our boy down one day. He's so precious to us. He's got real feeling and real emotions just like us and when he's so excited to see us, it's just so sad to think about. We are literally his life. I've pretended to go out all day and I spy on him. He does nothing. He just lays around bored. He needs us.
Oh they are the BEST of souls!!! My oldest dog has so many health problems but she is so happy and just doesn't seem to be bothered by anything. She loves her walks and still enjoys her meals. I give her all the medicines with peanut butter and oh man I just love her. We have done so much together. I know the end could come at anytime. I try to just think about the moment and ignore what I know is around the corner. The present is a gift, open it up and ENJOY!!!
