I discovered him a few years ago when I saw a novel about Troy in the new book section of the library. An amazing storyteller. Troy was supposed to be a trilogy but Gemmell died before completing the third book. I was so pissed. Seriously, he has a whole catalogue of great books. Also as I was writing this wikipedia just told me that his wife finished his third book of the Troy series with his notes. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

i read shedloads of Gemmell in my youth :D

Legend still stands out as his magnum opus for me (Druss is still one of my favourite literary characters) ... the Drenai and Rigante series' were my faves

i grew out of his writing style about a decade ago .... but for anyone looking for good ol' heroic fantasy, he definitely deserves a read

gods bless ya david gemmell :sunny:
