All nine of the back porch kittens are running around and Lil' Baby brought her 3 out of the old dresser tonight. Boy, the screamed and cried for the first 10 minutes. I guess she's putting them back into the dresser now because there is crying again.
I got to hold one of the little feral kittens from the back porch. It let me pet it this morning and didn't run this evening so I just picked it up. It's a little black one with orange dappling and an orange nose. It's sweet as pie.
I've been holding several of the kittens. The ones on the back porch are much more docile and tamish than the ones in the carport. Lol, one little black one from the carport loves to hiss and spit. I've got more than several black kittens. I hope they aren't difficult to get adopted out.
I found one of the kittens dead in the carport this morning. It appeared to have been unharmed, externally.
One of Lil' Baby's kittens bit the shit out of me this morning. It was out in the driveway by itself. I thought it needed help.
Baby Fluffily made it back to the carport with all 4 of her kittens (3 yellow and one black). One of the kittens on the old back sun porch fell out of the high windows. It's been down on the ground in the back yard for two days. One of the 3 mothers goes and feeds it. Hubby saw it today, attempting to climb the vine back to the porch. He said it was wet from the rain but looked healthy. It scooted away to the work room beneath the porch before he could capture it.
That is really interesting that one of the mother cats will go down there and feed it but doesn't take it by the neck back up onto the sun porch. Maybe they figure it'll fall again. Must be fine if it was able to scoot under the porch. That's still odd/funny.
They climb a vine to get up into the windows. Hubby thinks the kitten is getting too big to carry up a vine.
The neighbors and I were trying to catch a kitten so the young woman over there could have it. lol Her brother and I were out with gloves and boots because of the biting and poison ivy. There is one kitten on the back porch that lets me hold it. I went to find it for the young woman and it's nowhere to be seen. It must have jumped down into the back yard jungle. Damn the luck.
I just had to get a demon kitten out of the rain. Three kittens were sleeping in the yard with the mother near by. It started to rain and all ran for shelter except a little black oe. He didn't seem interested in moving but was starting to worry about getting wet. This time, I got my heavy leather work gloves and scooped him up. He screamed and bit, over and over again before I got him near the carport. The two mothers finally came running for him. I put him down for them and I bitched at them to keep him out of the rain. Those two young mothers aren't very good mothers. *Sigh.
One of the carport kittens wasn't doing too well when the kids came over to play. They had to move it out of the driveway. I brought it inside and washed it's eyes and nose open. It doesn't feel too well with all the gunky matter. I hope it does well. I'm not planning on bringing anymore kittens inside to take care of. Nature will take her course one way or another.
So much to catch up on here. RIP Irma. We had a kitten die last night. I had named it Irma because it's mother brought it into the carport during the storm. I saved it that night, I believe. It was cold and wet and she wasn't taking care of it like the other two. She kept shunning it, somewhat. I kept giving it back to her until yesterday when it took very ill. I held it and loved it all day yesterday and it passed away tucked in a little box with towels and a hot water bottle, last night. I know it's nature's way. I didn't cry but I did give it as much love and comfort as I could.
One of the fucking raccoon stole one of the newest kittens because there wasn't any cat food in the bowl when he got here. I'm so sick about it. They tried to get one and I got out in time to make them drop it behind the old refrigerator. They came back. I heard the tussle again, saw them for a second, but they got away with that one. I have the one it dropped and the remaining one in the house for the night.
