And all that money sloshing around in the City of London. I can see why annexation might seem like a good idea.

    Now, about my qualifications.....

the merits of this statement aside, I can't help but think that it is coming from only having lived in europe.

so all of the continents will have different qualities, and may suit people differently.

for many people, their home continent and home country is the best place for them to live. family, friends, work/school nearby, you know the language and fit the culture, know your way around, government presumably has some legal obligation to represent you, and you don't have to move to get there.

if you are dissatisfied with your home, some other place might suit you better, but there's no guarantee that you will like the new place any better.

    Not only London.

    And not only coffee shops.

To me as a kind of genetic hybrid, it has always seemed that there's a unique uptightness in the average Brit. I have never been to the Netherlands, but I've been in several other European countries, and somehow I find the whole general attitude of people different.
France is the country where I feel most at home. But that's my French genes, or so I suspect. And the much more laid back attitude of the culture compared to here.

I'm saddened by the fact that Britain, which once led the world in many ways, has gone into terminal decline and regress. And there are ghosts of the past lurking in very sinister places. Irrational forces of blind conservatism caught up in some kind of aura of power left over from the age of empire.

If I could find a financial method to do so, I'd get the fuck off this sceptered isle. But personal and monetary reasons keep me chained down on this fucking rock in the Atlantic.

    Rant over.:beatdeadhorse5:

I'm cool. I was speaking rhetorically, mainly for Asmodean's amusement.

But yes, not long left, and less for me as I have a couple of conditions one of which will see me off in a decade or less. But I'm indifferent really.

that's awful. do you care to say what it is?

I'm always encouraging people to try acupuncture/chinese medicine, though since I don't know the condition, I don't know how well it would apply.

qi gong practice might be helpful to you. I've heard of people who claim that doing tai-chi/qi gong saved them from cancer and other things.

Best continent to be in based on what criteria?
If it's based on social or cultural criteria, then I haven't any clue because I lack a big enough comparison base to form a valid opinion.

But hell, that doesn't stop me from giving my invalid and completely biased opinion :p

    North America, of course....:patriot:

Well I don't give a reason, because your reason is your own. Someone may prefer their place based on social reasons where others political or so,

I decided with Europe just because the number of countries I'm fascinated in.

I grew up loving the Far East, but was in much displeasure with the climate, very humid and hot.

Broadly speaking I've got a respiratory problem and a heart condition which is fairly minor at present.

    Thanks for your concern:)
