Are you using filters on all telephone points? Are you using a router or a modem? Any idle time-out set?

Ive got 2 filters on the line. Im using an adsl modem and i dont think ive got a timeout set but i recently installed service pack 2 so i think thats whats causing the problem. How can i check to see if there is a timeout set?

Go into the network control panel and open up the properties for your connection. On the "options" tab, check what "idle time before hanging up" is set to. Seeing as this defaults to 20 mins, I think we might have found the culprit.

Sorry dude. Can't really help you then. AOL have a nasty habit of installing their own software, which is one of the reasons I've always avoided them like the plague. Best I can advise is that you check their support pages.
