Ok so over this past Christmas break I took a break from my daily smoking and practiced yoga and meditation pretty much daily for about 2 or 2 1/2 weeks. After I came back up to college and began smoking again I noticed that physically it had become much more pronounced. I could really feel the relaxation throughout every part of my body. It was just really a total body stoned I had never felt prior to meditation. Now this may very well be because my tolerance dropped during my little break but I'm pretty sure I can account most of the feeling to yoga and meditation.

So I was just curious as to what you guys have experienced with yoga and drugs?? Does doing yoga change the way you react to certain substances?

I also roll from time to time but haven't since I started meditating. Have any of you guys meditated while rolling? I bet that would be a great experience. I'm excited to give it a try.

Well It's probably a little bit of both.

In my experience, meditation has put me more ''in touch'' with all the feelings I may have, whether its relaxation, fear, sadness, happinnes, hope (anything really). Since you've been aware of what relaxation feels like, maybe it's easier for you to get in touch with that when youre high. And as we all know the ganja tends to deepen whichever state we might be in.

MDMA has been used adjunct with psychotherapy and is gaining popularity for that purpose. It facilitates introspection in a more positive and accepting way. So yeah, meditating while rolling is probably very do-able. Ive never done E so I don't know, so I don't know for sure. Lemme know if you try it, I would be interested to know.

I use mushrooms exclusively for meditation, that is meditation is the only reason I use mushrooms. I use them infrequently.

High, high enough that the veil becomes very thin. If I don't achieve a state of dissociation from my body, I tend to get locked into examining it rather than further dimensions.

    At the edge of chaos...
The best exploratory strategy of an evolutionary "space" appears at a phase transition between order and disorder.

If you are asking me. No, because I am not weighing, only observing.

I would bet its both as well

My tolerance drops significantly after 48 hours and then again after a week and the most after 3 weeks but gosh I can't even remember the last time I took a month off!

Meditation deffinetly helps realizing your body and after smoking it certainly brings you more in touch with your psych!

I am most inspired when I stop smoking for a few weeks, commit myself to work and lowering my impulses. Then when I smoke it is like I am in heaven. I love stopping and going.

Gabriel Cousen's used to treat his patients with acid! I think he had something like 20,000 patients treated with acid! hard to believe....

I may not be sure about the ethicacy of treating with acid but I LOVE his books like

"spiritual nutrition and the rainbow diet" - if interested you have to buy it used on amazon or something

The brain is a megaaparatus. Who knows what takes place, including relaxation. I see a shrink and if I have been smoking weed recently he always comments on how good I look.

Maybe you're best doing stoned meditation?! However, having seen and experienced kundalini during my most clear minded times and experiencing transformation based in shakti all I can tell you is that I use pot or other drugs to slow down the flow, which proves to me that pretty much all psychoactive drugs are inhibiting.

I want to raise a question which few can answer. If one is well experiencing the formless, pure awareness, what difference to life does it make - for the reason that it's not a thing and so cannot effect things? Save for the brain and body. And therein I believe is the answer. Talk of Gods and so on are glyphs for a transcendental experience, but so what?

Yoga is a brilliant mood booster that demands absolutely no drugs or medications. Like all types of exercise, yoga emits hormones that help relieve feelings of tension that often lead to the blahs, blues, or outright depressive disorders.

I find ganja to be a tremendous aid to both Yoga (the physical exercise/meditation form) and my more traditional sitting- or breath-meditation practices. I believe ganja is an AID TO YOGA in the broader sense of life-reorientation back toward absolute reality.

I see cannabis as one particular kind of sadhana or ritual or practice that, in conjunction with other forms of self-improvement, helps do the work of yoga, that is, reconnecting to the divine that is everywhere and within. I think the spiritual path is one of much effort and many techniques, and I think both abstinence from drugs and judicious use of certain drugs can both be valid practices in the yogi's arsenal. Whether it is good for one yogin or bad for another depends on personal temperament, which in turn depends on environmental and genetic and neurochemical factors.

I can say in my own experience that the ingestion of ganja, if intention, setting and other factors are correct, strengthens many positive mental qualities like discernment, attention, gratitude, and present-moment awareness. Many of these mental factors are very helpful both in the practice of high-concentration physical yogas (and other bodily exercise, btw--I find cannabis an excellent aid to a gym session as well), and of contemplative practices like breath meditation.

I find that eating one or two (relatively weak) cannabis cookies invariably helps a meditative session, while a couple of bong rips are a get prelude to session of asana-yoga. Again, I think discerning use and combination of these practices requires experimentation, trial-and-error, and a constant watchfulness for bad intentions.

    Har har mahadeva shambho!
