Is this more "change" that was already occuring.
But the world is being fed the line: Obama is GOD ?

17 April 2009

The Obama administration took a bold first step towards limiting the gases that cause global warming today after formally declaring that such emissions are a danger to public health.
The official finding by the Environmental Protection Agency that carbon dioxide and five other gases threaten public welfare sets the stage for regulation of emissions from coal-fired power plants, and for forcing US car manufacturers to make cleaner and more fuel efficient vehicles.
Environmentalists celebrated the ruling as the most definitive break to date with eight years of "climate denial" under George Bush.

Is this actually fair? What are thay actually saying? Obama, is moving away from Bush apparently claiming Global warming wasn't man made, a threat to public health or just the fact he is making policy to reduce immisions, that Bush failed to do?:

April 15, 2008

On Wednesday, President Bush will lay out specific goals for limiting greenhouse gases, making a commitment to other nations about U.S. intentions and announcing an intermediate goal, The New York Times reports.
Last week, the Bush administration held a meeting with Republican lawmakers to gauge the reaction to the idea of supporting a limited cap on greenhouse gases, but a White House spokesman says that Bush does not intend to lay out a specific emissions reduction plan today.

Earlier this year, the world's top climate scientists released a definitive report on global warming. It is now "unequivocal," they concluded, that the planet is heating up. Humans are directly responsible for the planetary heat wave, and only by taking immediate action can the world avert a climate catastrophe. Megadroughts, raging wildfires, decimated forests, dengue fever, legions of Katrinas - unless humans act now to curb our climate-warming pollution, warned the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, "we are in deep trouble."

Now the Pentagon tells Bush: climate change will destroy us

Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters..
A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a 'Siberian' climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.

The EPA’s Elusive Climate Change Endangerment Report

In December 2007, the White House blocked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from regulating greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act. During the process, the White House ignored a scientific report by the EPA, redacted almost half of the congressional testimony by the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)1, and blocked a permit allowing California (and 19 other states) to enact state-wide greenhouse gas regulations.

15 March 2001

Mr Bush's abandonment of a campaign promise to regulate power station's CO2 emissions was the first major U-turn of his presidency. The President said that new evidence indicated that the proposed controls would do more harm than good.

While I applaud the effort it would seem the horse is out of the barn. IMO...Obama is too late. Our problems are too numerous and not enough people can see the writing on the wall...especially fucking Americans!!

I wouldn't say we're doomed but much suffering is ahead.

Not really the angle I was going for.

Is this actually fair? What are they (The gaurdian) actually saying?... Obama, is moving away from Bush apparently claiming Global warming wasn't man made, a threat to public health or just the fact he is making policy to reduce immisions, that Bush failed to do?:

Big brother does not need to limit auto makers.

People just need to stop buying an ancient technology...

That would force automakers into producing a clean and sustainable method of transportation...

Concessions here and there are not enough, cars still pollute - whether those pollutants be captured by some device or let out into the air... useful parts of the earth are being turned into pollutants that do not aid in our survival.

Sure I can get from here to there quickly and on my own time...

But whats the point if in doing so I create something toxic enough to kill someone?

Consider the emissions you create each day being put into your bedroom...

You would be dead.

The world is our bedroom...

Please confine you thought to my point...not a wider point, please.

But, while I am here I might as well address a few of your wider points:

"That would force automakers into producing a clean and sustainable method of transportation..."

They are producing "clean and sustainable method of transportation" and so people will; "...stop buying an ancient technology...". It doesn't quite work the other way around, imo.

"Concessions here and there are not enough, cars still pollute - whether those pollutants be captured by some device or let out into the air... useful parts of the earth are being turned into pollutants that do not aid in our survival."

I agree.

"Consider the emissions you create each day being put into your bedroom...

You would be dead.

The world is our bedroom... "

I think that should be "our" not "your".
If you live a life free of spreading these toxins, your quite special.
I very much doubt you are THAT special.

I spread lots of toxins, enough to kill someone every day.

Considering this while doing so pains me... but I'm already so tangled within this system, I must work within it to hope to live without it.

As far as being on topic.

We are not free if we are only free to do "good". Regulation must be an internal bout, not a literal war.

None of this has to do with Obama, no more than it has to do with Bush. Obama is a yes man, so america INC loves him - america INC also runs the propoganda force we know as the media... untangling the web of deciept is near impossible without doing research on your own... but the system is designed to limit our freetime to an extent where we cannot involve ourselves in such matters of freedom - they want the machine promoted (as each work day suggests).

So no, this is not fair. Nothing any administration does is fair - they cannot possibly apply themselves to my personal needs... and even if they did, they would lose sight of their own needs - which is just as bad.

Everyone must account for everyone with every action, this is not something anyone can enforce but self.
